France

North of France

We had around 10 days for the North of France. That isn´t a lot, France is huge and beautiful. On the way down we drove along the coast. We visited plenty of small fishing towns.  From the Picardie we came to the Normandie. The beaches became full of  high cliffs. Weather changed and it was rainy. But the landscape was still beautiful. We bought daily fresh fish and good Cidre. For breakfast we had baguette and chesse. We defintily enjoyed to eat. Very interesting was the coast of the Normandie were thousands of people were killed in the WWII. We had a look at one of the plenty museum about the war and were stopping at war sides. The highlight on  our trip was the huge monastery of St. Michele, which is build in the middle of a small island in the sea close to the coast of St. Michel. After that we start to drove back up to Germany. We visited the cities Rouen and Lille and because of bad weather we drove back to Hamburg. Nice trip, good food, but bad weather...and Eskil i will practise chess and one day i will beat you.
